Biography
Macy Marlett joined Sharp Law as an associate in September of 2023. Macy’s practice at Sharp Law involves all aspects of the firm’s class action and complex litigation lawsuits.
Born and raised in the Central Valley of California, Macy’s life has always revolved around the agricultural industry. Her passion for agriculture led her to Oklahoma after high school where she earned her undergraduate degree in animal science with a minor in agribusiness from Oklahoma State University in 2018. As a student at Oklahoma State, Macy judged on the 2015 meat judging team, 2016 AQHA World Champion horse judging team, and 2017 meat and animal evaluation team. Also during this time, she served as Chairman of the National Junior Angus Association Board of Directors during her two-year tenure on the board starting in 2015.
Macy then earned her masters degree in meat science from Oklahoma State University in 2020. During her masters, she coached the 2019 meat judging team. She also completed, defended, and published research related to oxygen scavenger technology in meat packaging.
Macy graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2023, where she was named to the Order of the Coif. During law school, she served as Assistant Managing Editor for Oklahoma Law Review. Her article, which examined appellate legal challenges to ag-gag laws and advocated for farm protection statutes instead, won the American Agricultural Law Association Modern Agricultural Legal Issues Essay contest in 2022 and was published in the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law Spring 2023 issue. Macy also served as the Problem Writing Co-Director for the Board of Advocates, on the board of the Christian Legal Society, and competed on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. Lastly, during her time serving as the President of the OU Agricultural Law Association, she coordinated the inaugural symposium for the Association in the spring of 2023.
