Summer Associates
Sharp Law LLP is looking for talented, hard-working 2L law students to join us as Summer Associates. Ideal candidates will have strong academic credentials and excellent legal research and writing skills. Moot court and/or law review experience are preferred. This is an in-person position. Applying candidates must live in the Kansas City metropolitan area or be prepared to relocate to the area for the summer term.
Summer Associates will gain first-hand experience in all stages of complex litigation, including class actions and multi-district litigation (MDL) from conducting legal research, drafting complaints, reviewing documents in discovery, and researching and drafting legal briefs. These will be practical assignments with real deadlines that require effective time management skills.
Summer Associates will work closely with our attorneys at all levels of the organization, including partners litigating major cases. Our attorneys aim to include Summer Associates in a variety of practical legal tasks including case management meetings, expert meetings, conference calls, mediations, settlements, hearings, and depositions. Summer Associates will also benefit from any internal CLEs or other firm training that takes place over the summer months.
Outside of the office, Sharp Law will provide opportunities to explore Prairie Village and the Kansas City metro area, including visiting the local courts in Kansas and Missouri. From attending a Kansas City Royals game, firm happy hours, and meals with partners and associates, Summer Associates will interact with our attorneys and staff in a casual atmosphere, as well as in the workplace.

Students who are interested in the Summer Associate Program must submit the following documents:
- Resume.
- All post-graduate transcripts; and
- An optional personal statement (500 words or less) on a topic or experience that has influenced your decision to practice law and pursue a position at Sharp Law.
